Volkswagen Jetta Radio Replacement Instruction (99 – 00)
To remove the Volkswagen Jetta Radio (99 – 00) do the following:
Pull the radio from the dash. Unplug the antenna cable from the rear of the radio. Unplug the black and brown wire harness connectors from the rear of the radio. Insert a thin, flat keys into the vertical slots as shown in the diagram. The metal must be very thin (approximately 1/32” to 1/16” thick) or it will not fit into the vertical opening.
To install the new Volkswagen Jetta Radio (99 – 00) do the following:
Slide the ‘DIN’ sleeve into the hole in the vehicles dash. Secure the sleeve by bending the tabs on the sleeve behind the plastic of the dash. Mount the shafted radio to the radio installation kit. Slide the kit/radio assembly into the hole in the dash. Depending upon the type and style of installation kit you will need to secure the kit to the vehicles dash. And more…
